Maputo, 27 Oct. (AIM) – The Governments of Mozambique and Russia have expressed their willingness to strengthen their bilateral relations and to expand their economic and trade cooperation.
Chapo, speaking on Monday on the sidelines of the third Russia-Africa summit, which began on Tuesday in Moscow, expressed satisfaction with the invitation to participate in the summit and stressed the importance of maintaining close ties between Mozambique and Russia and their peoples.
” We must always remain united, our countries and our fraternal peoples,” said Chapo, stressing the importance of preserving the historical ties between Mozambique and Russia.
Speaking at a meeting marked by the presence of Dmitri Medvedev, Vice-President of the Russian Security Council, Chapo said: “We are here to further strengthen our relations of friendship and cooperation, which are historical, and above all extend them to economic and commercial relations. »
The third Russia-Africa Summit provides a platform for dialogue between Russia and African countries, aimed at strengthening cooperation in areas of common interest.
At the Summit, the participating Heads of State should adopt three documents: the Declaration of the Third Russia-Africa Summit, the Plan of Action 2027-2029 and a Declaration on Cooperation in the Peaceful Use of Artificial Intelligence Technologies.
Chapo’s participation marks his first presence at a Russia-Africa summit and offers the opportunity to explore new areas of economic and trade cooperation between Mozambique and Russia.
